And what about the omnipresent honeysuckle that smothers everything in our woodlands? This presentation covers the major invasive plants of the Ohio valley, some methods of eradication, the reasons for composting organic matter, and suitable native plants for your yard, including trees, shrubs, spring ephemerals, grasses, and sun loving wildflowers.

Composting with Worms: An introduction

Come learn more about the many exciting benefits to composting the worm way! This course will introduce the basics of composting with worms such as the: 1. Needs of the red worm or ”compost worm” are and how those needs can easily and efficiently be maintained. 2. Components of a vermicompost system and a few good practices to follow when composting with worms. 3. Materials required for establishing your own vermicompost system. Immediately following the basic course will be an optional “buid your own” worm compost bin. More details are available at the site.
